Everything said about it is not: the wording, the severity, the affected pages and the search score it costs all come from the same scanner that will read yours.

What you are looking at

Everything below is answered from what the scanner actually does. If an answer here stops matching the software, that is a bug in the software or in this page — tell us which.
Is it actually free?
Yes. All 107 checks run on every scan, there is no account to create, no card to enter and no trial to cancel. Creating an account is optional and only exists so your scans are kept together and you can see what changed between them.
Do I need to install a plugin or add code to my site?
No. We look at your site the same way a visitor's browser does — we load the public pages and read what comes back. There is nothing to install, nothing to paste into your theme, and no access to your hosting or admin area required.
How long does it take?
The first findings appear in about 25 seconds, and the rest arrive as each part of the scan finishes. Most scans finish inside a few minutes. You do not wait on a blank screen — results stream onto the page as they are found, and you can leave the tab and come back to the same link.
Will scanning slow my site down or break anything?
No. The scan only reads — it never submits a form, signs in, or changes anything. On a free scan we look at up to 25 pages, we obey your robots.txt the same way a search engine does, and any one site can only be scanned four times an hour no matter who asks. That last limit exists to protect your server from us, and it cannot be raised.
What do you actually check?
107 checks across six areas: how fast your site loads on a phone and on a desktop, whether search engines can read and index it, security headers and your certificate, accessibility against WCAG 2.1 AA, the email records that stop your domain being forged, and whether AI crawlers are allowed in. Every check has its own page explaining what it looks for and how to fix it.
Can I scan a website I do not own?
You can run the free scan on any public site, which is how most people try this on a competitor before running it on their own. Anything deeper than that needs the domain verified first — going further into somebody's site than they have asked us to is not something we will do for anyone, at any price.
What happens to my data?
The findings and the report are kept so you can compare future scans against them. The raw evidence behind them — page contents, screenshots, timings — is deleted automatically after 90 days. This site runs no analytics unless you accept the cookie banner, and tells no third party you were here if you do not; your browser keeps a list of the reports you have opened so you can find them again, and the cookie policy names everything we store. We only email you if you ask us to.
What if the report says something I do not understand?
Every finding says what is wrong, why it costs you something, and how to fix it — in plain English, with the evidence we based it on. Where a check is less certain it says so rather than asserting it. If something is still unclear, tell us and we will answer, because a finding nobody can act on is one we have written badly.
