The short version
- Only scan sites you own or have permission to scan. This is the one rule that really matters.
- Keslo reads your website. It never changes it.
- Our findings are a good tool, not a guarantee. A clean report does not mean a site is secure or compliant.
- Don’t use us to attack or survey other people. We rate-limit, log and will cut off anyone who tries.
These terms apply when you use keslo.co.uk. By running a scan you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service.
Who we are
Keslo is a trading name of No Fear Tech Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number [company number], registered office [registered address]. You can reach us at hello@keslo.co.uk.
What Keslo does
Keslo visits a website you nominate, in the same way an ordinary visitor or a search engine would, and reports on what it finds: speed, search visibility, security configuration and accessibility.
It is entirely read-only. Keslo requests pages that are already published. It does not log in, submit forms, guess passwords, probe for vulnerabilities, or attempt to change anything. It respects the instructions a site publishes in its robots.txt file, limits how fast it requests pages, and identifies itself in its user agent so any site owner can see who is visiting.
What you may scan
You must own the website you scan, or have permission from whoever does.
We allow a first scan of any address without proving ownership, because requiring proof before showing anybody anything would make the product useless. That is a deliberate trade, not an invitation. Repeated scanning, deeper crawls and monitoring all require you to verify that you control the domain.
Scanning a site is your decision and your responsibility. If you use Keslo against a website you have no right to test, that is on you, not us.
Acceptable use
You must not use Keslo to:
- survey or map websites belonging to other people, whether for research, competitive intelligence or anything else;
- overwhelm, disrupt or degrade any website, including by automating scans or working around our rate limits;
- break any law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
- resell or white-label our reports, except on a plan that explicitly allows it;
- copy the service, scrape it, or use it to build a competing product.
We limit how many scans can be run from one place and against one site, and we keep a record of who scanned what. This protects the websites being scanned as much as it protects us.
Accounts
Accounts are not available yet. When they are: keep your password to yourself, tell us promptly if you think someone else has it, and give us an email address you actually control — it is how we would reach you about your account.
Paying for scans
Nothing is for sale yet. Every scan currently available is free. When paid plans launch, this section will set out prices, what each plan includes and how billing works, before anyone can be charged. Any price shown elsewhere on this site before then is indicative and not an offer.
Cancelling and refunds
When paid plans exist, and if you are a consumer rather than a business, you will normally have 14 days to change your mind about a digital purchase. Because a scan is delivered immediately, you will be asked to agree to it starting straight away, which ends that cancellation right for that scan — we will make that clear at the point of purchase rather than burying it here.
Subscriptions will be cancellable at any time, effective at the end of the period you have paid for. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Connecting other accounts
You can connect a Google account so we can read Google Search Console for sites you have already verified with us. Three things about that are worth stating here rather than only in the privacy policy.
- You must be entitled to grant it. Connecting an account whose Search Console access you were given for a different purpose, or on behalf of a client who has not agreed to it, is your responsibility rather than ours.
- We ask for read-only access and nothing else. We cannot change your Google account or your website through it, and we will not ask for a wider permission without saying so first.
- A Google grant is not proof of ownership here. You still have to verify a domain with us before we will attach Search Console data to it. Google letting you into a property tells us about your Google account; it does not tell us whose domain it is.
You can disconnect at any time, from your Search Console settingsor from your Google account’s own permissions page. What happens to the data then is set out in the privacy policy.
What we do not promise
This section matters more than most, so it is in plain words rather than capital letters.
- A clean report does not mean your website is secure. Keslo checks a defined list of things from the outside. It is not a penetration test, a security audit or a code review, and it cannot see anything that is not visible from a browser.
- An accessibility pass does not mean you comply with the law. Automated testing catches perhaps a third of accessibility problems. The rest need a person, and the reports say so.
- We can be wrong. We show the evidence behind every finding precisely so you can check. Tell us when we are wrong and we will fix the rule.
- Measurements vary. Speed depends on the network and the server at that moment. We mark findings that come from a measurement so you know which ones move on their own.
- We do not promise the service is always available. We will do our best, but it is a small operation.
Keslo tells you what to look at. It does not replace professional advice about your particular situation.
Our liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost data or indirect losses; and our total liability to you is limited to whatever you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £100 if you have paid us nothing.
Ownership
Your website is yours. Scanning it gives us no rights over it. We store copies of its pages only to produce and re-check your report, and delete them after 90 days — see the privacy policy.
The reports are yours to use. Show them to your developer, your client or your board. What remains ours is Keslo itself: the software, the checks, the way findings are explained and the site.
Suspending or ending access
We may limit, suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if the service is being used to harm somebody, or if we are required to. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will. If we end your access without cause and you have paid for something you have not received, we will refund it.
You can stop using Keslo whenever you like.
Changes to these terms
We will update the date at the top when these change. If a change materially affects you and you have an account, we will email you before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of your local law and can bring proceedings there.
